School resumes today, and  while teachers are said to be enthusiastic and ready to welcome the kids back , there is also the message that they just want to carry on with the year.

That may be easier said than done.

Contract talks between the teachers and the B.C. Public School Emoployers Association resume today,  and in a few hours, the President of the BCTF, Jinny Sims, will hold a news conference in Vancouver.

It is no secret, in addition to contract talks with the employers about salary,  BCTF has been talking to Government.  The most recent news release says the teachers have been asking for "a venue to resolve the key issues of class sizes and resources for students".

The teachers have been without a contract for more than a year  and have a strike vote set for later this month.
