What surely must be one of the most picturesque locations for a golf course in the central interior, the Prince George Golf and Country Club is looking at this property as a possible new site.  It all hinges on if they are able to sell the present location to a land developer.

The area is located on Foothills,  just below Ridgeview heading to the Hart Highlands area.

The beauty of the location is the fantastic soil (sand) that is found in that location.

Novak Bros Construction has offered the Golf course the property in question for a reported sum of $750,000 dollars.

The money would come from the sale of the existing site which would be turned into retail and residential development.

IMO this is already a done deal, all they have to do is sign on the bottom line.

As much as many "oldtimers" are against seing another "green" area going to built development, I think this is a good time to move the course. The proposed property has a nice southerly aspect and is probably not high enough to be in snow that much longer than the existing location.

Maybe there will be room for some residential development associated with the new site as well. That would make the deal even more lucrative for the club.
I like the site, but will sorely miss the area for riding ATV's. That said it is a good location, and one I have often thought would be good for development.

I bet the homes along Ridge View are estatic about this development. I only hope the view points are preserved for public access and not private club access.

Also I think a Target super store and a home Revy would do well in the Hart Scale location as part of the developement. Shopping for the North end of town and competition with the Walmart complex. I think it would provide a second ancher that would spead up the overall development of PG.

It now seams obvious that the current site of the golf course will form the new nucleus of a urban city center type of zone with retail, residential, and tourism all in one location for the first time in the city of PG.
ya will be great, i can stand on foothills and drive balls down onto their heads. I can also honk on the way by to mess up swings. that my friends is funny sheite.

Spanky you are one sick puppy,I'm sure this is in your veiw a compliment, anyhow I do find your post's humorous.Chadder, the way I see it I think these box stores your talking about should just stay on the other side of town. The hart area IMO is the cities best kept secret, lets keep it nice and quiet, let College Heights have all the congestion.Yah Yah I know,"the hart is redneck central"that's the reputation, but the fact is most the population of the Hart is working class with a few excecutive types thrown in,Not many welfare bums on the Hart.

Rock I agree, I lived in the Hart for 7 years. It is PG's best kept secret and I would much rather live up there than in College Hights. It would be nice to have better shopping up there though as it does cost a lot for gas otherwise, especially bad though is the cold beer store deficiency.

Time Will Tell
Chadder, thay have a cold beer store right beside Cheiftan autoparts and subway,it's great you can go and buy a BLT deluxe and grab a case of cold ones then go get all the stuff you need to overhaul the 4x4.
