What Have We Done To Deserve This:One Man's Opinion
By Ben Meisner

I hate to say it folks, but if you look around you will see that things haven’t been going "A-O.K." for the central and northern interior over the past six months.
You may recall that we had a lot, as a matter of fact, a whole pile of snow from early in November on.
Then suddenly comes spring, which if the recent hot snap hadn’t happened we would still be waiting for. Then a hot spell just in time fore the more than 160% of normal snow to melt sending a torrent of water into the rivers creating a flood.
If, in the next breath we have two things happen, we either have a cold wet summer or a hot summer which triggers a lot of forest fires and no matter which way you look at it, we are getting our share.
At the recent 43rd annual World Moose Conference one of the delegates from Minnesota came by to ask what we in this region had done to create this mess.
I told him I thought we were living a pretty normal existence, you know not too much sugar, lots of sleep and just a little booze on the odd occasion. I went so far as to say that in at least some churches attendance is up, so we are getting it there as well.
He came by again later to tell me that it was rubbing off because he had just talked to his wife who informed him that his State had been hit with some very severe thunderstorms. He asked if we were passing it along, I concluded that I do hope it’s like a cold, first you get it and then , without even trying, pass it on to someone else.
I’m Meisner and that’s one man’s opinion
