Prince George is one of several cities to be featured in a special t.v. program  this weekend.
“Places of Green”  is  a one hour program  that  features the  urban forests of Prince George, Victoria, Vancouver,  Kelowna, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Sudbury, Montreal, Toronto, Quebec and Halifax.
Initiatives Prince George, the City of Prince George and McGregor Model Forest partnered together to sponsor the Prince George involvement in the program.  “We felt this program provided the opportunity to showcase our community to the country and demonstrate the impact that forestry, both commercial and urban has had on Prince George,” says Mayor Colin Kinsley.

A film crew from King Motion Pictures out of Edmonton, was in Prince George last fall to shoot footage for the documentary, which includes interviews with local people, beautiful landscape and scenery shots and scenes from the Rivers Day Festival at Fort George Park.
King Motion Pictures is selling DVD copies of the program and for every dvd sold, a tree will be planted and cared for by Tree Canada, a not-for-profit organization that fosters working partnerships with Canadians to appreciate, plant and maintain trees.
"Places of Green" will air tomorrow evening on Global at 7:00 pm.

Wasn't that weekend rained out last year? Its sure would be sad to pay another out of town film company to film our city in the rain and not in the sun on days like today....
