Experts from the Provincial Government have advised the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George that the imminent threat of flooding along the Fraser River at the Shelley Townsite and Foreman Flats has diminished at this time.

Based on this information the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is rescinding the June 6, 2007 Evacuation Alert for residents in these two areas.

If river conditions change another Evacuation Alert may need to be issued for residents in these two areas. The Regional District will advise residents at their door if the issuance of a new Evacuation Alert is required.

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George’s Emergency Operations Centre remains open and will continue to provide resources and/or assistance to residents.

At this point, the City of Prince George  is  keeping its  Evacuation order and alert in place.  Residents of Ferrell Street  were ordered to leave thier homes, while residents in other parts of the Paddlewheel Park neighbourhood and  along  P.G. Pulpmill Road  remain on evacuation alert.
