Although the Fraser is expected to peak today and start receding this weekend, the Regional District of Fraser Fort George says evacuation alerts issued and local states of emergency declarations, will remain in effect for now.
Information Officer, Finlay Sinclair and provincial hydrology experts took an aerial tour of the Robson Valley last evening to assess the situation on the Dore River.
The flow of the Dore had been stalled because of a massive slide. Sinclair says the river has pushed a channel through the slide debris and the hydrologists are confident there is no threat posed by the slide.
Other parts of McBride are seeing serious flooding. The photo below left is of the Ox Bow Lake area.
