Hi there:
My name is Donna Frakes and i live on Vancouver Island...
Re: your news article about Barry Penner having Sarcoma, a very rare Cancer... I am also on the Sarcoma journey... Barry's is just another type of this rare cancer(Leiomyosarcoma), mine is called MFH (Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma Sarcoma).. I am so very sorry to hear of our Environment Minister getting such a cancer... i want him to know that he should get a 2nd opinion, and that he may need to be seen at a BIGGER cancer center that deals with more Sarcoma cases a yr than our BC Cancer Agency.. they only do what they can for the few Sarcoma cases they to get every yr.. but i do have a good Dr over at the Vancouver Cancer Agency that i do trust with my life..
I am so glad that the media is getting this news out there... there isnt very much funding to help figure this rare cancer out, and get more trials going on to figure out what drugs/chemo's can be used to successfully irradicate this monster.... i hope to hear back from you... and again thank you so much for putting this news out there... more people need to learn about this very rare cancer that affects ppl like Barry and myself..... i am totally alone here in Port Alberni with my Sarcoma... i only know a few people over in Vancouver with it......
HUGSSS thank you for taking the time to read my comment.....
God bless Barry and his fight with Sarcoma
