A 17 year old male is in  Prince George Regional Hospital recovering from stab wounds this morning.

According to police, the teen was walking home from work around 1:30 this morning when he was approached by two males in the  Pearson Avenue- Upland  Street area.

They asked the teen for money, but when he said he didn't have any, he was stabbed several times in the stomach, and in the back. The two  attackers also took several items from the teen before heading off into the VLA area.

The  victim was able to make it home  where he  got help.

Police are now looking for two young native males in their 20's.  Both were wearing dark clothing and one was on a BMX bike.

This makes me angry. How come our streets are no longer safe??
I hope the boy in hospital will be alright. No one is safe walking around at night anymore. We need more patrols, especially in the wee hours of the morning.
Hopefully the next person the native boys decide to rob, will beat the heck out of them first, that will be a better deterant than our court system.
Is it me, or does it seem that more violence like this is happening outside of downtown vs. in downtown?
Wow a 17 yr. old walking home alone from work at 1:30a.m. Poor guy. I want to go out on a limb and say if you're going to hire someone that young (a kid) to work for you at those wee hours of the night, make sure they get home safe or hire someone with a car for the late shift and let the young ones without a vehicle work after school.
Hey bohemian: Pearson and upland st is in the VLA (area of town called the veteran's land act), however those in law enforcement call it the Violent Living Area.
Downtown? ..... from the Nechako to north of 15th? ..... north of 18th? ...

The Gateway maybe ... but there are likely few who would call the Gateway area downtown ....

it is most certainly in the bowl .....
