P.G. Teen Who Received Multiple Organ Transplants, Has Died

Just before 1:00 this morning, 19 year old Gairett MacIver lost his fight for life.

Last August, Gairett received a new stomach, bowel, liver, and pancreas in a lengthy operation in Toronto. He had been making progress, but last month, developed pneumonia.

He was sent to Vancouver where he was in an intensive care unit, and took a sudden turn for the worse last week.

That is absolutely heartbreaking , he was tough kid ...a real fighter . I guess the good really do die young

This kid was a great story and an inspiration to many. I wish his family nothing but the best during this tough time...his pain and suffering are now over and he will be remembered around this community for a long time to come. RIP.

Oh wow what do you say about something like this? All you can do is feel sadness for the friends and family and hope they find strength and always honor his memory. Best wishes.

I can't begin to feel what Gairett's parents, brother, and the rest of his family are going through..but I have to say, whenever an article appeared, I knew Gairett had such a great, loving family, and Gairett obviously knew that, I could tell by his smile.... What a wonderful son you raised!!

Wow, what a sad day for the family memebers and friends of this brave young man. He was a fighter to the end. My heart goes out to all who loved him.
