North Cariboo Traffic Services is just releasing information about a motorcycle crash that sent two people to G.R. Baker Hospital yesterday afternoon.

RCMP say the mishap occurred on West Fraser Road, near Jack Pine Flats Road, when the motorcycle crossed the centre-line and went off the road as it rounded a corner.

Police say the driver and passenger were thrown from the bike as it went into the ditch and hit an embankment.

Constable Andrew Baylis says Quesnel RCMP and North Cariboo Traffic Services would like to thank the first passers-by for stopping and caring for the injured until Police and Ambulance arrived.

Both victims were transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries and are now listed in stable condition.

Constable Baylis says alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash, the cause is still under investigation.
