Public Tours Of New Hospital Maternal-Child Centre
By 250 News
Prince George Regional Hospital is opening the doors of its new $14-million dollar Maternal-Child Centre of Excellence to the public this evening.
One tour will run at 7pm, the other at 8pm, but city residents wanting to take part are being asked to gather in the hospital's atrium 10-minutes prior to the tour time.
Funding for the Centre came largely from the provincial government ($7-million dollars), the Fraser-Fort George Regional Hospital District ($4.8-million) and the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation ($2-million raised through donations).
The new maternity unit and neonatal intensive care unit will both open later this month to provide care for the region's families and newborns.

The new NICU has 12 private rooms for newborns to allow families to be closer and more involved in their care.
