According to the Ministry of Community Services, BladeRunners is a successful youth employment program that trains at-risk youth for construction jobs in B.C..  And it's coming to Prince George...

The industry-supported program already operates in Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Duncan, Ucluelet and Port Alberni and has helped more than 1500 youths gain employment.

Prince George-Mount Robson MLA Shirley Bond says, "The considerable intake we've seen already bodes well for the program locally, as we look forward to seeing the success of the Bladerunners program mirrored here, as we have already seen in other B.C. communities."

The Metis Nation of British Columbia is the program's delivery agent in Prince George.  The province has made a three-year, $2.4-million dollar commitment to BladeRunners and cost-shares delivery with various federal agencies.
