More Info on Recent Ft. St. John Fire Later Today

There will be a news conference in Ft. St. John later this morning, as the RCMP  meet with media to talk about the latest information on the  fire  which destroyed several buildings in that City last week.

A 17 year old male has been charged in connection with the blaze that levelled the Nova Star Inn and Suites, the Esta Villa Motel and caused varying degrees of damage to several other businesses in the block of Sikanni Road last Tuesday morning.

The teen is a resident of Ft. St. John and has been charged with Mischief Endangering Human Life.

The teen is in custody, but Ft. St. John RCMP say they don’t have any information that would lead them to believe this young man was involved with the other structural fires that had been set recently in the Fort St. John area.  Police continue to investigate those suspicious fires.
