When In Doubt Stay Out: One Man's Opinion

If the three gas companies trying to lure customers in the PG area had any intention of getting off on the right foot, they have scored a zero for their efforts.
At least every day there are complaints about these gas companies "hot pitching" residents, getting them to sign agreements when they believe they are just surveys or applications for possible service,  or getting potential customers to sign for a multitude of other reasons.
It has been a series of hot pitches from not only one company but those all combined.
When the matter first surfaced we were led to believe that it was all as a result of one individual who was using any means to obtain customers. That is no longer true and the companies in question, who are re marketing the gas if you sign, have some rather questionable people on the street.
There are a couple of things that you should know about what the re-marketing companies are doing.
They hope to buy the natural gas that you use in your home at a better price than you and re-sell it to you.
Its bit like when we had high interest rates and people were locking in their mortgage some years back. If you don't "lock in"  and the price stays low, you win.  If by some means the price increases, say there is a long hot summer in the US or another heavy hurricane season and the demand ski rockets you lose.
Right now the gas drillers are not putting a major effort into gas drilling because they feel there is too much a spread between gas and oil.
If you are in doubt, stay out.
I’m Meisner and that’s one man's opinion.

Yeah, I just turned down the third person to come knocking down er at my door. Pushy pushy pushy...won't take no for an answer and they try and get you with,"All your neighbors signed up." I say good for them. Door to door people make me nervous.
Right on Ben - when will they ever learn? Why can we not learn from the mistakes our neighbours in Alberta made on the same process (yes, the do NOT do everything right there)
