Treasure Jumping to Golds at Provincials

Prince George Track and Field Club athletes captured provincial titles  in the BC junior/senior championships in Kamloops. Fifteen year-old Alyx Treasure was a triple gold medalist. She beat athletes three and four years older in seizing the gold medal in the womens 18-19 year-old high jump. Treasure cleared 1.75m. Treasure also won the BC junior womens 14-15 year-old long jump. She jumped 4.71m for the gold medal. Her third gold medal came with an 11.26m effort in the women's 14-15 year-old triple jump.
Eighteen year-old Cassie Keeping of the PG Track and Field Club earned the bronze medal in womens 18-19 year-old 400 metres. Twenty-one year-old Geoff Martinson, who completed another impressive year at the University of Victoria, ran 3:57.92 to capture the gold medal in the men’s 20-34 year-old 1500 metres. Martinson earned the silver medal with a time of 1.52.8 in the mens 20-34 year-old 800 metres.
