Another court date has been set for Vernon Kyle Wilson.  He is the young man accused of killing Candace Marie Kalmokoff  in Prince George on January 1st of 2006.

The nursing student’s body was found behind a real estate business off 15th Avenue.

Justice Eric Chamberlist has set sentencing to take place during the week of August 27th

Wilson initially entered a plea of guilty, but has since changed legal counsel and has filed to have that plea withdrawn.  Justice Chamberlist had reviewed the application and had denied it although he will not make his reasons for the denial public until the 30 day window of opportunity to appeal that decision has closed.

Wilson’s lawyer says an appeal of that decision will be launched

Why bother changing the plea? The difference could only be a couple days more in jail.
