Environment Canada's Jim Steele says June in Prince George was a fickle month with flashes of hot and cold.
Temperatures were in the normal ranges:
Mean Monthly Temperature 13.8 Normal 13.3
Mean Monthly Maximum 20.4 Normal 19.5
Mean Monthly Minimum 7.1 Normal 7.0
The warmest day was the 3rd, when a new record high was set with a temperature of 33.28. That broke the old rfecord of 32.8 that had been set in 1970.
There was also a new cold mark set. the lowest temp was on the 24th with a low of 0.5 and that was just a tenth of a degree colder than the low mark of 0.6 recorded in 1946.
Although last week's downpour may have seemed like the most rain, overall, June was a little drier than normal. Usually Prince George gets 72.7 mm of precipitation in the month of June, and last month we got 56.3 mm . However, more than a third of that total monthly amount fell on the 28th and 29th, (22 mm) and the 28th was the worst of the two with 11.1mm
