The BC Legislature resumes sitting tomorrow, (Monday September 12) kicking off what promises to be a much livelier legislature than before the election.

In the previous round, there were just a scant two opposition members and Independent Paul Nettleton.

In this region there are now three Liberals, Prince George –Mount Robson’s Shirley Bond. Prince George North, Pat Bell and newcomer John Rustad, who replaces Nettleton who decided to run in the Mt. Robson riding against Shirley Bond in the last election.

The defeated Paul Nettleton is now looking to return to his law practice.

Meantime there are two newcomers to the south, Bob Simpson of Caribou whose riding is very close  as it includes Hixon.

Caribou South will be represented by Charlie Wyse, who defeated Walter Cobb, a former Mayor of Williams Lake.

With 46 Liberals and 33 NDP there is expected to be much more debate on a host of issues in the legislature.

Freshman Finance Minister Carol Taylor will deliver her first budget Wednesday.

I can hardly wait to see what they sell off next!!!!
Lots of Americans looking for a new home???
Come on over -cross the border-we are wide open for business.
Bring money!!!
Well here comes a good example as to how a government can rip off the taxpayers.
Years ago I rented to a welfare recipient. I was given a damage deposit of $150.00.
The welfare recipient stayed a month and decided not to pay rent the second month. When I went to find out what the problem was I found the furniture stolen, and the oven on the stove damaged so badly the appliance had to be replaced. Windows were broken, and the place a mess.
The welfare requested the damage deposit back. I wrote and told them the damages and theft of goods far exceeded the amount of the damage deposit. (Oh yes, they add interest on regularly)>
I finally thought it was settled in 2001, but lo and behold, I now found out they put a crown lien on a piece of property I own in the amount of $169.48 for that damage deposit.
After this, I can guarantee I will NEVER take a welfare recipient as a tenant.
I will not suffer any more losses , both monetarily and goods, by taking a welfare recipient on any of my premises.
And I will not feel guilty about saying NO THANKS.
