37 employees at Spruce Capital Homes in Prince George will likely find out Monday if they are unionized.

The Steelworkers union had made an effort to have the homes division of Winton Global / the Pas Lumber ,unionized and a certification vote was held Friday.  While the vote was in favour of joining the union, a protest over procedure has been filed  with the Labour Board.

The Labour Board is expected to make  a decision on the protest and the vote results,  Monday.

The lumber division of the company is already unionized.

Yep krisb-just what the employees need!!!
More protection?
Must be looking for more benefits and less work!!!
Time to go for the jugular with employers in this province.
See what an upswing does?
They are coming out of the "woodwork." Those union reps.
Just an expression!!!
I will admit tho' the cost of survival will also be on an upswing.
Oh well, let the pensioners and welfare recipients cut back!
As for the rest-get on the bandwagon while the gettings good!!
If it were not for Unions, every working person in this province and the rest of the country would be working for next to nothing for wages with no benefits at all. Just like the current Liberal governments and high profit buisnesses would love. They want the profit but do not share the wealth with the employees who make them that profit.
Yes, we union types are "coming out of the wood work" alright. Asking for respect and dignity in the workplace, decent wages and benefits, dental and medical care for our families, a fair pension plan, and job security...WE SHOULD BE ASHAMED...right krisb? right gypsy? Or should only pensioners and seniors have those rights? Give me a break!
