Mackenzie to Host GeoScience Announcement Today

Mackenzie will host a special news conference this afternoon at which time it is expected Northern Trust will announce  it is providing  $1million dollars  for the GeoScience project which will map mineral deposits between Mackenzie and Fort St. James.

Last month,  GeoScience announced its "Quesnellia" project which will  use new technology to try and find mineral deposits  in the corridor between Williams Lake and Mackenzie.  The Province committed $4 million to the $5 million dollar project, and there was an application  into Northern Trust for the balance.

The new technology involves having a helicopter carrying a device that looks like a "dream catcher"   fly a grid pattern over  the region.

The official announcement and details of the project will be revealed this afternoon in Mackenzie.
