Inquest Date Set for PG Youngster

Six years after three-year-old Savannah Hall died, the B.C. Coroner's Service has announced an inquest into the young Prince George girl's death.

Savannah was was found unresponsive in her foster-care residence on January 24, 2001.  She was transported to B.C. Children's Hospital in Vancouver where she died on January 26, 2001.

Presiding Coroner Scott Fleming has scheduled the inquest to begin on Monday, October 22nd and run through the week at the Prince George Law Courts.  It will resume on Monday, October 29 and is set to wrap up on November 2nd.

 The five-person jury will publicly hear evidence from subpoenaed witnesses in order to determine the facts surrounding the death and will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances in the future.
