By 250 News
The cool weather is helping to keep a lid on the forest fire activity in the Prince George Fire Centre. There were 9 new fires started over the past week, lightning and human activity blamed for sparking the flames.
All were less than one hectare in size, . One has been turned over to industry, one is under patrol and the other severn are out.
The fire danger rating throughout most of the region is low and will likely stay that way through to the end of the weekend. The forecast calls for a brief warming trend tomorrow and Wednesday, then back to the cool temps and showers for the weekend.
Since the first of April, there have been 255 fires reported to the Prince George Fire Centre; 166 were caused by lightning, 89 by human activity.
