Quesnel's Spirit Square Gets Cash Infusion
By 250 News
Quesnel has picked up $54 thousand dollars to further develop its "Spirit Square."
The dollars will be combined with $20 thousand raised by the Sunrise Rotary 2000 Club to enhance the Four Corners Square by adding a new clock tower, and funding for a roof over the existing stage at Four Corners Square. The roof will be made out of wood to showcase the importance of wood to the community of Quesnel.
“The heart of our downtown, Four Corners Square means a great deal to our community. It’s where we meet to socialize, shop and do business,” said Mayor Nate Bello.
The funding comes from the provincial program designed to upgrade existing, or create new community squares for the celebration of B.C.'s 150th birthday next year.
