Storm Takes Toll At Cluculz Lake

A lightning strike that hit between a cabin and a nearby shed destroyed a cabin at Cluculz Lake last night.
The occupants escaped without injury, but all of their possessions other than the clothes they were wearing, were destroyed in the blaze.
Herb and Sylvia Kolietitch where spending the night at the cabin, located at 51310 Lloyd Road with some friends from Alberta when the lightning struck between the cabin and a nearby shed.
A few minutes later one of the residents said they could smell something burning and they quickly discovered that the cabin was on fire.
Cluculz Lake Fire Chief Pat Keyowski said today that the fire was prevented from spreading by putting water on a nearby cabin.
