Terry Fox Run

On Sunday, Prince George will take part in what has become an international event, the Terry Fox Run.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Terry's Marathon of Hope.

The first Terry Fox Run was held in 1981, and 300,000 participants helped raise $3.5 million dollars. Since that run, the Fox Foundation has raised more than $360 million dollars for cancer research. 

Sunday's run in Prince George will start at 9 a.m. at 7th and Dominion, and wrap up around 2 p.m. with the unveiling of a special monument to Terry.

There is still tiime to make plans to take part in the event, pledge forms can be downloaded from the Terry Fox Foundation website. Or you can visit the site at www.terryfoxrun.org to make a pledge.

Whatever happened to Steve Fonyo? He also raised 13 million bucks for cancer research but we only hear of him when hes had a couple of drinks.
Just wondering
The statue unveiling is just after twelve oclock, not two. It is to coincide with the time that Terry arrived at the finish line when he ran here.
terry fox should be an inspiration to all canadians.
