If you are a Terasen Gas  customer, there could be some savings on the way in your gas bill.

The company has applied to the BC Utilities Commission for a  reduction in the commodity price for customers in the Interior, North, Kootenays, Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.

According to a news release issued this morning,  the   request is to decrease the commodity price of natural gas by 9.6% and that would result in  a yearly saving of $70 - $81 dollars  for  the average homeowner.

If approved, the decrease will take effect October 1, 2007.  The  change would not  be applied to residents of Fort Nelson as they are covered by a different type of agreement.

I wish I had of known about the reduction yesterday when I had one of those uninformed person knocked at my door offering me cheap gas with another supplier. It is unbelievable that that this is allowed to happen.

And how many unwary people got taken in by these deals after Terasen sucked in many with their song of sign up and stabalize your gas account. Then the price of gas dropped.

I think iwas Owl that said "you have to dance with the one you brung".

Cheers
like those long distance sellers. Should be made illegal.
Although I agree with you guys???? I like the idea of options.....I just won`t be grabbing this brass ring.

Interesting! Recently, I had a guy come to my home supposedly representing Smart Energy (BC), trying to sell me a 5-year gas contract. According to him, he had information from Terasen that stated that Terasen was planning to increase gas rates effective October 01, 2007. Door to door sales......no thanks! These people will say anything to make a sale, regardless if it is fact or not. It took a while, but I did get rid of him and I am still buying my gas from Terasen.
Beware of Geeks bearing gifts.
I also had a Smart Energy person at my door not long ago, when I asked what would happen to our rate if we signed the 5 year deal and then the price dropped, I was told the price would never go down. This person did not look like someone who could see into the future so I am still as Bridge said dancing with the one who brung me..
"...so I am still as Bridge said dancing with the one who brung me..'
