B.C. has  another mine in the works.  The Ruby Creek   molybdenum mine  has  been  given an environmental assessment  certificate for construction and operation for a new open pit  molybdenum mine and processing plant .  The project is located about 20 km north east of Atlin.

The mine is  expected to  handle 20 thousand tonnes per day for more than 20 years and create 250  direct jobs during the life of the mine.

To be built at a cost of  $414 million dollars, the two years to build the  site will mean  the creation of more than   500 construction jobs.  The company will spend   nearly $69 million  for capital equipment,  and  annual  operating costs are expected to be  about  $79 million.

Atlin has waited a long time for this project to get off/in the ground.
Fire in the hole!!
Great news for Atlin and B.C. in general.
Now on to bigger things.
Mining in B.C.needs a boost and Mt.Milligan, north of Fort St.James, should be next to be permited.(spring 2008?)
We need mining, considering our forest industry in going to take beating even more than it already has!
