Performing Arts Centre Developing Funding Plans
By 250 News
The volunteers with the Prince George Regional Performing Arts Centre Society are continuing their efforts to develop a performing arts centre in Prince George.
A Request for Proposals has been issued for the feasibility study and the Society hopes to have a consultant in place by mid October.
"We want to work collaboratively with the community and ensure we have a widespread consultation process as part of that feasibility study," says Society President Cliff Dezell.
Dezell says the society is planning a public meeting within the next few weeks. "We want to outline what the consultation piece will look like, and ensure people are aware of their opportunities to provide feedback in this process," says Dezell.
In the meantime, the society is selling memberships as a way for the community to show its support for a Performing Arts Centre, and to help generate some revenue for the society. Memberships are $10 for a full active membership that includes voting rights at the society’s upcoming AGM, or "Friends of the Society" membership for $5. Memberships are available at the Community Arts Council at Studio 2880, Two Rivers Art Gallery and Books and Company.
To learn more about the society’s membership campaign, people can contact Elizabeth MacRitchie at 561-1524. Questions about the feasibility study can be directed to Sharon Cochran at 960-5565. People looking for more information overall about the Prince George Regional Performing Arts Centre Society can contact Cliff Dezell at 960-3210.
