Film Crews Coming to Tour

Six Vancouver-based producers/location managers will be touring Kitimat, Terrace and Stewart next week.
Linda Yip, Lisa Towers, George Chapman, Karen Zajac, Mark Gamache and Barbara Ann Schoemaker who have combined credits including The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Kevin of the North, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants,An Unfinished Life, Alien vs Predator II, Blonde and Blonder and X-Men. t
The film industry representatives accepted an invitation from the Northern BC Film Commission to tour the northwest’s beautiful landscape and meet the local communities.
Northern BC Film Commissioner Karen Cameron is excited to welcome the group to the area. "For many of our guests it is their first visit to the north and we are pulling out all the stops to show them what Kitimat, Terrace and Stewart have to offer the film industry," says Cameron.
The Northwest is home to unique locations and culture that would appeal to the film industry. "The Kitimat-Stikine region is home to many colourful First Nations communities including the Gitxsan, Haisla and Nisga’a. The landscape is filled with forests, glaciers and quaint small towns. It’s a must see for the film industry," says Cameron.
The area has already seen some major production in recent years with projects such as Insomnia and Beyond Borders. This action packed tour will include ground and aerial tours of such sites as Kitimat, Terrace, Stewart, Nisga Lava Beds, Douglas Channel and Salmon Glacier.
