Furlong was there on a month long vacation, and says when the plane crashed Saturday night ,  there was smoke filling the cabin.   She says the passengers in the seats behind her, kicked out the window, and that is how she escaped.

She was able to walk away from the burning wreckage having suffered only cuts and whip lash “I guess I was in shock, I guess I am still in shock” she told reporters.

There were 123 passengers and 7 crew members on board the budget flight.  At least 88 people died in the crash.   There was heavy rainfall at the time of the crash.

I heard her in an interview on CBC radio on Sunday. She is an articulate, well spoken person, who, while surely in shock, still managed to sound like she was not too rattled by her experience. I guess it was not her time to leave this mortal coil.
