Two In Jail After Wild Chase

Two men are in custody in Prince George tonight following a chase that began at the PG Saw Mill site and ended up on the Hansard Bridge crossing the Fraser near Sinclair Mills.

Between 4:30 and 5:00 this morning, a one ton Ford flat deck was stolen from PG Saw Mills. Highway patrol was alerted and later in the morning police received a report of a break and entry north of Bear Lake.

Shortly after 9:00 this morning a motorist advised police that a Ford one ton flat deck with two snow machines on the deck had gone up the Upper Fraser Rd and police took up the chase.

At one point, three police dogs were called out, the RCMP Plane was put in the air and several cruisers took up the chase.

Police set up the spike belt on the Hansard Bridge and all six wheels on the vehicle where flattened when the two tried to flee across the bridge.

The stolen truck then went into the ditch and the two Caucasian males, known to police where taken into custody suffering from minor injuries after the vehicle left the road and went into the ditch.

Police say that for a time on the winding road they lost track of the truck and it is believed at this point the two snow machines were dumped from the truck.

The pair is expected to appear in Court tomorrow to face charges.

Truck, couple of sleds, 3 RCMP Dogs & a couple of Cruisers, 1 Plane plus who knows what else and who else was affected.

Throw the book at them, put them to work for the province for the next couple of years, minimum. Then let's talk about what was missing in their youth upbringing. Chester

A harsher penalty would discourage some of these idiots. How about for a start they have to pay back the costs they incur in their sick rampages. Of course they do not have savings accounts, so the payment must come in the form of labour. Come on, there are plenty of jobs around for these vermin, we should'nt have to put them up in style at the Hilton on the hill, they should have to pay for their transgressions. Take a page from the book of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, of Maricopa county, Arizona. He runs the jails under his jurisdiction the old fashioned way, and there are no luxurys afforded the inmates. Further more, the inmates work on chain gangs, to do free work for county and city projects. Do you think we could hire him?

I too have seen the e-mails regarding the philosophy of Sheriff Joe. He would receive my vote.

But, wouldn't all of the bleeding hearts have difficulty with how he achieves his successes regarding misbehaving delinquent's in his jurisdiction? Doesn't take too long to measure the success of his program. Chester

You gotta like that guy though, I read where he did not want to be accused of discrimination, so he started female chain gangs too! And the only clothing the guys are allowed to wear is PINK! including socks and underwear. WHen they complained that it was too hot in the tents they have to live in, he said "tough it is 120 degrees in Iraq, and our soldiers have to live in tents too, as well as wear full battle gear, but they did not commit any crimes, so shut your damned mouths"!
He also says "if you don't like it, don't come back"!
