Green area in  Google image,(outlined in deep pink) is  general area  which is the subject of  a rezoning application for  a  new subdivision  that would  have  more than 500 residences.

There is a rezoning application in the process to  set the stage for another  new  neighbourhood for Prince George.

This subdivision is called Glen Lyon Cascades, and would  be part of the  recently approved Ospika South  Neighbourhood Plan. This time, the presentation is to prepare for the rezoning  application that calls for  much of the property to be  rezoned from the existing Agriculture/Forestry zone, to  residential  categories for single family and multi family residential development.

The project  would  cover  about 66 hectares,  and would eventually be home to  368 single family dwellings, and as many as 396 multiple family units ( based on  60 such units per hectare ) .  In all,   if the rezoning  is approved, the entire neighbourhood would be home to  another 13 hundred  people.

"This would be developed  over an 8 - 10 year period"   says  L&M’s Heather Oland.  "Typically,  30 lots per year would be  developed".

Go west my son.
I live out west...starting to look like Kelowna...time to move to the Hart!
Where are they going to find the people to live in all these grandiose subdivisions? Also, the traffic out there will look like Kelowna...the land of no-left hand turns
1300 people? Thirteen hunnert cars/SUVs. A few dozen trail bike riders. Skidoo riders in the winter. Oh, goody. Lots more people.
