Prince George, B.C. - Prince George City Council has given third reading to a rezoning application for Harper Street.

The application  was to  change the  zoning from  residential to  multi family on a series of lots on Harper Street for the construction of townhomes across from Freeman Park.

One  area resident said he  is concerned about the  trail that currently runs alongthe eastern edge of the property and  worries that if trees are cut down they will  damage the trail. The trail he says gives area  residents access to Spruceland. The City's Director of Current Planning, Dan Milburn advised that if the  developer does damage to city infrastructure including the trails, they would be  expected to make the necessary repairs.  Council approved third reading of the  rezoning application.
