Pucks for Paeds Project Launched
By 250 Sports
The Prince George Cougars, Spruce Credit Union, Paediatrics Unit of Prince George Regional Hospital, and Spirit of the North HealthCare Foundation have launched “Pucks for Paeds” Initiative.
This season, as the Prince George Cougars shoot on opposing goaltenders, it will be children with illnesses who actually score. Spruce Credit Union will donate $25.00 for every power play goal the Cougars score this season. All proceeds will go directly to the PGRH Paediatrics Unit to help enrich young patients’ experience with hope, strength, and joy.
“At Spruce Credit Union we are proud to give back to the community of Prince George through our donation committees. When choosing to donate, we first consider local organizations that support children, health or education. The Paediatric Ward is a perfect fit for us”, says Sandra Sandy, Manager- Hart Branch, Spruce Credit Union.
The Cougars and the Paediatrics Unit are also teaming up to make every child’s visit to PGRH a relaxing and comfortable one through the "Super Fan” program.
A “Puck’s for Paeds” draw box will be located in the Paediatrics Unit of PGRH, where young children can enter a ballot every time they are admitted. One winner will receive a Cougars package including game tickets, memorabilia, personal player visits, and autograph sessions. Each month, a Cougar player will select the winner at PGRH.
“We are fortunate to be in a situation that allows us to give back to those in need. We are extremely excited about this initiative”, states Cougars Business Manager, Brandi Brodsky.
