The Regional District of Fraser Fort George has approved spending $40 thousand dollars to market the Golden Raven  brand.
The  visual “brand”  was designed to  assist in tourism  efforts.
The Regional District  says  it knows it has outstanding culture and heritage offerings but it lacked knowledge in tourism  marketing.
With regional cooperation, a desire to collaborate,  unique attractions, and  other tourism  related attractions.(adventure tourism , cultural tourism) there is opportunity to  build on tourism.
The District  is aware it has some challenges, like the  value of the dollar and the ability to maintain high standards.  That is where the Golden Raven comes in.
It will be the  "mark" which will  let tourists know this  "experience" is supported by the  Regional District as having a certain quality .
The Golden Raven will be officially launched  this fall in preparation of the  2008  tourism season.
Mackenzie Mayor Stephanie Killam says this branding will be a benefit to her community as it will let  tourists know there are quality attractions and  events  to visit in that community.

Here is some irony for you... Raven: Scared symbol to the natives. Gold: Mining and development. How did these two items make it together?
They own it all!
if they want it!
??? Golden Raven sounds like a swell Chinese restaurant specializing in piping hot Canadian cuisine.
The Golden Raven? Probably a good friend of the Mad Hatter, Rip Van Winkle, The Pied Piper, Daddy Warbucks, The Headless Horesman, and Icabod Crane, to name a few.
looks like a shit hawk to me.

Golden Raven - How tacky can we get. Why not a Red pine tree. or a needleless black shiloette of a pine tree.

Come on, we are going to spend $40,000.00 on some stupid scam like that. Why not host a Mid summer eve party at the top of Powder King and make it a annual attraction.
"this branding will be a benefit to her community as it will let tourists know there are quality attractions and events to visit in that community"

What if there are communities which do not meet the standards?

BTW, what are the standards? What will cause one event to be able to display the symbol and others not?
Which prompts me to ask whether some attractions will have 3 golden ravens and others 1 1/2 golden ravens .... is is sort of like a 3 star hotel? Or is it simply like CAA approved?
Who the hell thinks up this crap?
Obviously someone does NOT have enough to do and too much money to do it with!
"Beware the Golden Raven", said the brown eyed mutt as he laid down his cards last... aces over eights...

"Read 'em and weep boys and girls", he chuckled as he leaned over the pot... hooking the chips and cash with his left paw.

I like the Golden Raven... let's keep it.

Blessings.
Din't the Golden Raven's pal say, "Nevermore?" Quoth Harbinger.
