Although the Federal Liberals have survived the latest non-confidence motion, the Conservatives say it isn't over yet!

Following a Caucus meeting,  Prince George M-P Richard Harris tells Opinion250 News,  his party  will "Continue to hold Government accountable for everything" and they will "take every opportunity  through votes " to keep the  Liberals and the NDP  accountable.  There is an "Opposition Day " set for the end of this month, and Harris says the Tories will put forth a motion that will say something to the effect of  "Whereas the Governement has been shown to be corrupt,  and has abrigated its responsibility to the tax payers, and has lost the confidence of the Federalists in Quebec, the Government should do the honourable thing and resign".  Harris  says he doubt's the Martin team will pay any  attention, in his mind  the Liberals have now  faced two confidence motions,  but at least the Opposition Day will mean a whole day will be set aside for debate and each and every Liberal and member of the NDP will have to show up for work to ensure  the Government  doesn't topple.

The Government survived a  non confidence motion earlier today, when , with a tie of yeas and nays on the budget, the Speaker of the House had to cast the deciding ballot.  It is traditional for the Speaker to vote with the Government, and today was no exception.

I think that was smart for Harper to hold off right now. He needs the votes in Atlantic Canada.

IMO he should engineer the governments defeat on an issue that the party can take a national stance on.
