New map from Natural Resources Canada Geological Survey shows flurry of activity west of Nazko cone

Prince George, B.C. - The Scientists who are watching the activity near the Nazko Cone, about 100 km west of Quesnel  say the quakes continue.  Equipment set up in the area has recorded  more than 700  microearthquakes in the  area since the  quakes first started on October 9th.

While scientists are confident the quakes are being caused by magma movement about 25 – 30 kilometers  below the surface of the earth,  there is  no evidence to suggest a volcanic eruption is likely. The Nazko Cone last erupted about 7 thousand years ago.

Scientists continue monitoring the site, and will provide updates as new information becomes available.

I wonder how much the quakes would obstruct seismic information for anyone looking to petroleum reserves?
They might if anyone was looking...
...which apparently they are not...
The rumour mill has been fairly idle on the topic of oil and gas exploration in this area.
