Police to Review Hall Death with MCFD Reps

Prince George, B.C. - Prince George RCMP say they will be meeting with senior Ministry of Children and Family Development reps this week to go over any issues arising from the inquest into the death of 3 year old Savannah Hall (shown in photo at right) as they may relate to a criminal investigation.
The police investigation into Savannah’s case initially started on January 25th, the day after Savannah had been taken to Prince George Regional Hospital. She was in a coma, and was subsequently transferred to BC Children’s hospital where she died on January 26th.
That investigation failed to provide any grounds for charges of culpable homicide. In December of 2004, the Corner’s Judgement of Inquiry ruled Savannah’s death as “undetermined.”
The case re-opened in 2006 when another expert offered a different opinion on the cause of Savannah’s death. The case was reviewed, but given the different medical opinions, again culpable homicide could not be established because of the differing views from medical experts surrounding the cause of death.
After two weeks of testimony and nearly 30 witnesses, a Coroner’s Jury classed Savannah’s death as homicide.

Maybe one of the few good things to come out of this inquiry is the media attention it has brought to this whole issue.
Still far too many unanswered questions that need to be dealt with, instead of simply allowing them to fade away.
Society and the very system that failed Savanah owes her that much!
