Contract Awarded for School Expansion

Prince George, B.C. -  Wayne Watson Construction has been  awarded the contract for the $5.3 million dollar expansion  for College Heights Secondary School  in Prince George.

The 825 square metre expansion will provide room for music and drama, a multi-purpose space, expansion of the library and administration areas.

The project has been on the School District 57 wish list for about 18 years.  The funding has been provided through the School District’s sale of and lease of surplus school properties.

Construction is to start immediately.

Margin to second bidder was about 5 percent, or 200,000 dollars. Not bad in this marketplace. How 'bad' did the other contractors want the work?
