Watch the east-northeast sky  this weekend.  The Leonid meteor shower is expected to put on a show.  If  the sky is clear,  you should be ab le to see 5-10 meteors per hour.

The Prince George Astronomical Society will have its observatory open Saturday night ( the 17th) for a special open house  so people can get a better look at the  Leonid shower.

Check the forecast before heading out to the  Observatory near West Lake,   the Observatory will be  open to the Public on the  17th  at 8.p.m.  (click here for a map to the observatory site)

Sadly, it looks like we will not be able to watch the Leonids in this neck of the woods this year. Snow will obscure them. Being a fan of meteor showers, I have enjoyed the Leonids many times, and I will be sad to not have them.
