The Season of Celebration Is Underway

The Christmas Season will officially arrive this evening although one of the annual favourites is already underway.

The Festival of Trees is now in full swing.  This is the 14th year for the Festival which is the cornerstone of the Spirit of the North Foundations fundraising events.   The Festival features 25 trees decorated in special themes,   a gift shop,  special  events like the  Chamber Lunch and  the  Scotia Bank Silver Bell Seniors Tea.  The Festival is underway at the Civic Centre from 9-9 through Friday,  9-6 on Saturday and 11:00 to 4:30 Sunday. Admission is $5 per adult, or a family pass for $10. Seniors and students  get in for $3.

This evening, the First, Northern Lights Festival will kick off on Connaught Hill.  The display of still and animated light displays is a project created by City Centre Ventures and is an effort to increase retail  activity in the downtown core.  The kick off to the Festival also marks the start of the free parking downtown…You can park for the allowable limit for no charge. 

Also this evening  the  light up  for the Festival of Trees in the Square at the Civic Centre, and the Downtown  Prince George  Winter Lights.
