Looks to me like foreign Japanese cartoon characters. It is almost as bas as the ice fishing fiasco at the Turin closing ceremonies.

My hope was that we would use the Olympics to sell the real and the modern Canada to the world establishing our image for decades to come. Pokeeman doesn't do it IMO.

Seems someone decided the First Nations theme has been done to death in B.C.advertizing and events, so now they will switch to an Asian influenece?
I would still like to know how these cheap,made in China trinkets actually represent B.C.and Canada?

I heard the tail end of a story on the radio yesterday, am I mistaken, or do these 'mascots' have japanese sounding names? Should'nt we have them made in our own Canadian sweatshops? and name them after B.C. features; Sea to sky sammy, or whistler wendy or beyond Hope Hope? Or maybe Vic Vancouver, Nootka Nellie, or.....wait for it.................
