The Province has released a summary of the input received during the year-long Conversation on Health. These comments, ideas and suggestions will assist government
in making decisions about the next steps towards the renewal and sustainability of the public health system.

Participants provided wide-ranging and often differing views on how to renew the health system. However, some general themes emerged, with many participants stating they want to see:

* A strong and sustainable public health-care system today and in the future, where people can access medical services regardless of income,location and other factors;
* More supports for personal health management through health promotion and disease prevention;
* More choices for patients, including more primary care, the creation of specialized geriatric services and health supports that are outside of hospitals and institutional  settings. They also want to see more integration and co-ordination of care between health professionals;
* A system that makes the best use of our health professionals, promoting the maximum use of their skills and exercising a wider scope of practice.

The Conversation on Health had more than 6,600 registrations to participate in regional forums, 12,000 submissions, 78 forums and millions of hits on the Conversation on Health website.

The government's "Conversation on Health" was not a conversation at all.
It was more of a bunch mumbling on healthcare that will be ignored,forgotten,and change nothing!
It did however waste more money that could have actually been SPENT on healthcare!
The government already knows what the issues are, but refuses to deal with them.
Instead,they prefer to baffle us with retoric and spin that accomplishes nothing!!
Well said, Andy. I couldn't agree more.
I have spent a couple of hours over the last two days trying to get some real information about what was recommended by participants. All you get from the conversation on health website is a bureaucratic evaluation of what people said, with no actual information content.

Does anyone know where the actual submissions can be obtained. Not just the MoH selected ones they put on their site, but all of them?
The MoH should be able to provide them. Unless they're 'secret'. Kind of reminds me of what old Joe Stalin said about 'elections'. It's not the ones who 'vote' that decide them, but the ones that 'count' the votes.
