Subsidizing The Prince George Golf Club ... Enough Is Enough
By Ben Meisner
Now you might wonder why the City Of Prince George has become involved in the development of a plan for the Golf Course property in the City?
That’s a very good question given that even if the city has owned land in the past that is adjacent to a development including a golf course and haven’t rushed out to pony up some money for a neighborhood plan.
Why should we be doing it now? If the golf course feels that they want to sell the land that they occupy, go ahead, but keep in mind that we the citizens of this city, who have been subsidizing the facility for a lot of years, should receive our share.
But so far that hasn’t been in the cards. If the Golf course doesn’t feel they have enough money to replant the trees then why didn’t they take an idea offered to them that they sell a small portion of land and use that money to pay for the repair?
The people who own private golf courses in this city should be mad as hell with the prospect that they pay taxes to subsidize a facility that is in competition with them. Does the Prince George Golf club offer cheaper fees? No. so prey tell what’s in it for the average resident of this city?
If the golf course wants to build a new course on North Nechako, fire to it, but not on the dime of the average citizen in this city. Enough is enough already
I’m Meisner and that’s one man’s opinion.

Old golf member of PG Golf course.
They are making one big mistake.
They should have hung onto what they had.
Buffers could have been designed until replanted trees mature.
Big big big mistake
