An ice jam on the Nechako River just upstream from the confluence of the Fraser was causing some concern Sunday night but no flooding has occurred.

(at left,  water has crept up the boat launch  on River Road)

It is not known when the jam began but it has, to this time, not affected the Fraser River down stream or any of the homes located on the upstream portion of the Nechako River.

There has been some limited flooding into the fields to the north of the river in and around the baseball fields along the Pulp Mill Road and water has all but flooded the new boat launch, however downstream in the area of Cottonwood Park, no flooding was observed.
