The principal of Cedars Christian School, the home to 397 students between grades 2 to 12 says they have a plan in place should the Nechako River flood their property as it did in 1997.
Vicki Kibble says we have a plan in place to look after the kids. If we have a problem before school starts we will make an effort to get in touch with everyone by phone. If we need to close classes during the school day we are going to walk down to the Edgewood Elementary School and have parents pick up their kids there. We are watching it closely she said, back in 1997 we had to close the school when the water crept into the school yard.
Late this afternoon water was observed at the Pacific Western Breweries Loading Dock about 100 meters away from the school .
