The ice jam on the Nechako River compressed some overnight, making it about 100 metres shorter than it was yesterday.
Meantime, City Hall has renewed the Local State of Emergency as is required every seven days by the Provincial Government. Since the evacuation order was lifted for the Delhaven-Pozer Road area and the McAloney Crescent-Ongman Road areas, no changes have been made to alerts or orders.
River monitoring continues to take place around the clock. The City is installing its own river gauges to conduct more detailed measurement of river levels.
As of 9 a.m. today, the Nechako had risen .2 metre (eight inches) since yesterday at the Cameron Street Bridge.
