Thats just par for the course in downtown PG when visiting those drinking establishments. I blame the establishments for the kind of attitude they take towards the protection of their clientel. Their attitude is if things happen on their doorsetep its your fault. Try to get any of them to co-operate with an investigation and you will see it is all about money for them and for some reason they will do anything in their power to deny they have a problem. Its a part of town you only want to go if you're prepared to handle your own risks.
Its not a money issue - its a liability issue. The doormen or bouncers as you want to call them, their insurance coverage and the bar's liability insurance is only good for within the confines of the establishment. Its not up to them to police what happens outside of the bar. They can actually be prosecuted for assault should a doorman venture outside to deal with an unruly client.

Why on earth would anyone think that the establishments should provide "protection" for their customers? If you want to point fingers look at your city council and police services. When they let the area [down town] become the "East Hastings" of the north what do you expect?
It's know wonder why people stay out of the downtown core at nite...
The guy must have complained. Hundreds don't say anything, just wait for revenge.

This story makes it sound like a three-on-one fight downtown is unusual. Those fight club guys don't walk around alone.
Ok what did he do to get his ass beat? I dont feel sory for him yet. Two sides to every story people. If your a wiseguy hanging around downtown at the bar rush your probalby going to end up getting beat sooner or later.
The fights outside the Cadillac are standard weekend fare. So, what's the solution? Some people go there for the sole purpose to fight. So, who is it you expect to deal with this problem? Chester
