Decision Today on Suing Tobacco Companies
Thursday, September 29, 2005 03:59 AM

The Supreme Court of Canada is to release its decision today on the constitutionality of a province( in this case B.C.) suing tobacco companies to recoup the costs needed to care for those who have tobacco related illnesses.
Health officials here estimate the provincial government spends more than $500 million dollars a year treating tobacco related illnesses.
The case was heard by the Supreme Court in June of this year.
The decison is expected at 1 p.m. pacific.
If the Court finds B.C. has the constituional right to go after the tobacco companies, the other provinces may well follow suit.

The majority of smokers state, "I am going to quit."
Yeah, yeah, yeah!!!
They do not have the courage of their convictions.
Others say, "I just can't quit."
They have about as much control over their lives as they have over that cigarette.
Anybody can quit.
Better to walk around short winded, coughing and spewing and stinking!!!
One never knows how absolutely disgusting that habit is until they quit.
Yessir-I am an ex smoker.
I have to admit I was good at it-like world class!!
No patch, no pills, no weaning off-just out and out became a quitter.
It was sure worth it.
