Good to see that the Crash National tradition continues. Time for the government to take it back. (And get rid of the unionised morons who "work" for them.)
Doesn't surprise me a lot either.
I am surprised, they have gone so long with out a derailment.
Amazed they haven't tried to blame the flooding for this incident....but it is early yet isn't it?
Keeping onlookers away from the scene? Hmmm? Price of coal would invite pilferers?
Note the web address on the side of the engine. This is the address where C.N. can tell you where they do not have a derail!
C.P. neverhad derailments, B.C.R., very rarely. C.N., continously,....Why????
Ancient history. CP, PGE, BCR all have gone the way of the dodo bird and a way of life that doesn't exist anymore.

There were lots of accidents with all those old names, we just don't remember them because in those days it wasn't the big deal it seems to be today. I rememebr 45 years ago walking from Sinclair Mills to Hutton to look at a trail wreck, and people were packing away stuff from broken box cars that were laying all over the place. It was a big wreck.
Hmmm.....I don't believe it.
zoodingle, I don't believe it's the "unionized" people screwing up, it's management trying to save a buck so profits soar. Remember maintenance cuts and layoffs? Management running trians by remote control? Don't be blaming unionized employees.
Yamadoo, CPR is alive and well last time I heard.
I wonder if those who keep taking shots at "unionized"people realize that it was unions over the years who helped to get the average worker decent wages and benefits?
If there had been no unions and workers sticking together,do we really think the employers would have given anything to the workers on their own?
Not a chance!
We would still owe our souls to the company store!
The blame is in CN management and poor track and equipment maintenance.
Unions have nothing to do with any of it,whether you agree with them or not!
"CN police have cordoned off the area preventing any onlookers from accessing the scene."

They can prevent you from entering the railway right of way and they can keep you back a safe distance, but they cannot chase you away from any vantage point where you have a view of the scene, for the purpose of keeping it out of public view.

I'm hoping for the day they transport money by rail again....
It wouldn't be a union trying to run maintenance on a shoestring.
Maybe he meant CP Air.

;-)
roger2pg: CN is going cheap on everything so the crowd at the top of that corporate pyramid can pay themselves more.
CEO Ewing H. Harrison makes a lot more than his published salary when the books show a good ratio of cost to profit.
As far as I can tell, most of what he has done is cut costs, including fixing things and looking for things to fix.
In a public address I heard EHH say that his "pecision railroading" has partly to do with running trains on time, using whatever cars are ready, so that some days a given train will run 148 cars and other days 48 cars. This would mean running trains on time but that's not what they're doing... they're running big trains all the time. It's cheaper.
When the government ran the railroad it only made a small profit, but was a lot safer.
Suppose Kinsley cares?
Hizzoner don't need coal from this train. Why should he care?
